Release Notes: Session Timeouts & IP Management

We are thrilled to announce a new update that focuses on enhancing the user experience on our platform. This update introduces several features designed to improve usability, provide informative details, and streamline processes. Let’s dive into the details:

Key Features & Enhancements

Session Timeout Message:
We have implemented a session timeout message to improve user awareness and convenience. This message will notify users when their session has expired and automatically redirect them to the login page. This ensures a seamless user experience, allowing them to log back in and continue their activities. Please note that some public pages are not subject to session timeouts and will continue functioning independently of session duration. These pages include:

  1. Client Admin Register link page
  2. Client Admin Invite link page
  3. Client Admin Approve / Reject link page
  4. DBA/DDA Request link page
  5. DBA/DDA Request Approve / Reject link page
  6. Hosted Pages
  7. Thank You Pages
  8. Login / Sign Up page
  9. Update Security Information through email
  10. Password Reset link page
  11. Information link page (support)

Redirect to Root Page After Login:
Upon logging back into the account after a session timeout, users will now be redirected to the same root page from which they were logged out. This functionality has been implemented for both client and admin sides, ensuring a seamless continuation of activities.

Failure Code and Description in Transaction View:
To provide more comprehensive information, we have added new fields, namely failure code and failure description, in the transaction view popup details. When the status of a donation in Transaction Information is Echeck Return, users can now view the associated failure code and description below it. This enhancement provides users with valuable insights into transaction failures.

Improved IP Management:
On the admin side, under Whitelisted IPs, we have introduced a new field called “Select Duration.” This field allows RallyPay admins to specify the duration for which an IP address will be whitelisted. Admins can choose between two options from the dropdown: “Temporary” and “Permanent”. Selecting “Temporary” will whitelist the IP address for a duration of 2 days, while selecting “Permanent” will whitelist it for 6 months. This allows more convenient IP management for our traveling users or those who rotate IP addresses frequently.

Additionally, two new columns, “Valid Up To” and “Status,” have been added to the Whitelisted IPs section. “Valid Up To” denotes the end date of the whitelisted IP, and “Status” indicates whether the whitelist is currently active or expired.

Time-bounding whitelisted IPs increase both the security of the platform & the security of our users. Our users can be confident that fraudulent actors can’t use their old IPs to conduct card testing and other fraudulent activities they would be responsible for.

Renewing Whitelisted IPs:
To provide flexibility in IP management, we have introduced a renewal button for whitelisted IPs. Clicking on the renew button will extend the duration of a temporary whitelisted IP for an additional 2 days and renew a permanent whitelisted IP for another 6 months.

We also have a patch release coming on Friday that will auto-renew IP addresses for our Permanent whitelisted IPs so long as we detect ongoing traffic from that IP address.

These updates reflect our commitment to continuously improving the user experience on our platform. We greatly appreciate your ongoing support and feedback, which has played a pivotal role in making these enhancements. Our dedicated support team is ready to assist you if you have any questions or encounter any issues. Please reach out to us at support@rallypay.com.
